What is your shipping method?
International Bridge uses a multi-partner delivery model: consolidate parcels at our facilities, transport by air to destination markets, and hand off to USPS for final-mile delivery.
How the model works
At a high level, here is how your package moves through our network:
- Pickup and consolidation: We pick up packages from retailers or receive them at one of our consolidation facilities. Packages are sorted by destination and prepared for transport.
- Air transport via zone-skipping: Rather than moving packages through a sequence of regional hubs (which adds time and cost), we use a zone-skipping model, consolidating parcels and transporting them directly to destination markets by air. This bypasses intermediate zones and gets packages closer to their final destination faster.
- Final-mile delivery: Once packages arrive at the destination market, they are sorted and scanned accordingly for the final-mile delivery.
An efficient and eco-friendly approach
Our consolidation model is also more efficient. By aggregating multiple parcels into consolidated shipments and optimizing routes, we reduce the per-parcel carbon footprint compared to individual carrier shipments on the same lanes. For e-commerce businesses looking to balance delivery performance with environmental responsibility, this is a meaningful advantage.
Non-continental shipping: a specialized extension of this model
For deliveries to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, and APO/FPO addresses, we apply the same consolidation approach with additional infrastructure built specifically for these markets and refined since 2003. To learn more about how this works, visit our IB Non-Con service page.
For businesses: integrating with our shipping network
