How does tracking work for IB Non-Con shipments?

IB Non-Con tracking is real-time, end-to-end, and integrated directly with your existing platform. Every parcel in the IB Non-Con network is tracked from the first scan at an IB facility through final delivery by USPS at the destination address.

How tracking data flows to your systems

Once your account is integrated, tracking data returns to your existing platform automatically. Your ops team and your customers see the same status updates, no manual export, no separate dashboard.

For businesses using ShipStation, ProShip, Shipium, or other multi-carrier shipping software, tracking updates populate in your system in real time, the same as any mainland domestic shipment. Non-continental parcels are not treated differently in your workflow.

Tracking milestones in an IB Non-Con shipment

A standard IB Non-Con shipment generates status updates at the following stages:

  • Received: IB has physically received and scanned your parcel at its facility. This is the start of transit time.
  • In Transit: The parcel has entered the IB network and is moving toward the destination market.
  • Destination Facility: The parcel has arrived at IB's destination-side facility for local processing.
  • Out for Delivery: The parcel has been handed to USPS and is scheduled for delivery today.
  • Delivered: USPS has recorded a delivery scan at the destination address.

Tracking via USPS

When IB uses USPS for final-mile delivery, your IB tracking number also works on the USPS website once the parcel has been handed off. Some platforms and shipping software can display USPS scan data directly alongside IB tracking events, giving your team a unified view of the full shipment journey.

For your end customers

If you're an e-commerce retailer or 3PL using IB Non-Con, your end customers receive the same tracking experience they would on any domestic USPS-delivered shipment. The tracking number works on both the IB tracking tool and the USPS website, and the status milestones (In Transit, Out for Delivery, Delivered) are standard and recognizable. If tracking is not updating

Tracking updates depend on physical scans. A parcel may go 24-48 hours without a scan during air transport between facilities. This is normal for non-continental shipments and does not indicate a delay. If a business-account shipment has not updated for more than 3 business days, contact your account manager or business support team.
