What is the minimum volume to use IB Non-Con?

The minimum volume to use IB Non-Con is 5 parcels per shipment, via Box of Savings, our consolidation program for lower-volume shippers. There is no monthly volume floor, no annual commitment, and no required account size. As long as you have 5 IB Non-Con labels ready to consolidate, you can use IB.

The 5-parcel figure is a per-shipment requirement, not an account requirement. A Box of Savings shipment combines 5 or more parcels into one consolidated box. Below 5 parcels, the consolidation does not produce cost efficiency, which is why the floor exists.

To clarify the structure:

  • Box of Savings (the minimum-volume entry point to IB Non-Con): 5 or more IB Non-Con labels per consolidation. No monthly minimum.
  • Standard IB Non-Con account (typically 250+ parcels per month): direct pickup, full platform integration, and dedicated account support.

IB serves businesses of every size, from a smaller online retailer shipping a handful of non-continental parcels a month through Box of Savings to enterprise retailers moving tens of thousands of parcels a day on a standard account.

Box of Savings: the minimum-volume entry to IB Non-Con

For businesses shipping lower volumes to non-continental U.S. destinations, IB's Box of Savings program provides full access to the IB Non-Con network with a simple consolidation model:

  1. Generate 5 or more IB Non-Con labels through the IB platform.
  2. Place the labeled parcels into a single consolidated box.
  3. Ship the consolidated box to the IB facility we will designate.
  4. IB processes each parcel and delivers them through the standard IB Non-Con network.

Smaller-volume shippers get the same transit times, the same delivery network, and the same cost efficiency as high-volume accounts. See our page on Box of Savings for a full explanation.
